How to Use a Crypto Futures Screener: Funding, Open Interest and Liquidations

A screener turns hundreds of markets into one sortable table. The value is not in the numbers themselves but in the combinations: price, funding, open interest and liquidations moving together tell a story that no single column does.

Columns that matter

  • Change 1h / 24h — where price is moving now.
  • Funding across exchanges — how crowded longs or shorts are.
  • Open interest change — are new positions joining or leaving?
  • Liquidations 1h / 24h — who was forced out.
  • Order book depth ±1% — how much money it takes to move the price.
  • Whale trades — large market orders in the last 24 hours.

Combinations to look for

  • Price up + open interest up + funding rising: leveraged longs are piling in; watch for a squeeze if the move stalls.
  • Price down + open interest down + long liquidations: a flush — positions are being cleared, not opened.
  • Price up + funding negative: shorts are paying while price rises — a crowded short.
  • Thin depth + rising volume: the coin can move far on modest flow.
